Step 1:

How To Get Website Traffic From Twitter?

Getting Twitter Traffic Is Simple!

I wanted to share a few tricks I use to get traffic from twitter. There are quite a few ways you can do this but whenever I make a new post these are the steps I take with (sometimes) amazing results.

1) Add A Picture

Always add a picture to your blog posts. You can make them funny, informative or controversial. The aim of your picture is to get readers to share it with them friends. Make sure to go and post your picture on Facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon and Pinterest with a link back to your website. Also make it easy for people to share the picture by having social media buttons close by.

As you can see from the picture on this post I am targeting the “crazy” fans of Lady Gaga. The ultimate goal would be for Gaga to retweet the picture herself but I am kind of hoping that does not happen because it would fry my hosts servers plus she has not got a sense of humor! (see what I did there?)

2) Get Retweets

You need to get the ball rolling! Use your own twitter account to tweet your site/picture at your target audience. Use the @ symbol to directly message the movers and shakers in your niche (ie: @ladygaga) and just maybe they will have a reaction.

I am luck and have 100+ Twitter accounts in different niches so find it quite easy to start a little Twitter rage but if you only have a few followers and the direct messages are not working you should go with Traffup.

Join up and set up 10 retweets with different URL’s (use shortener) and different messages. Then follow and retweet other people messages to build up points so your message is sent out……simple really!

3) Do Not Over Do It

If you are not seeing the traffic you expected after a few days try something else. There is not point hitting your head against a brick wall. Have a think, look at what is being shared on social media platforms and start again.

How To Rank A Small Business Website?

Small businesses need to have an online presence but often do not know where to start when trying to rank their website. Local SEO targeting is a lot easier than most people think. There are some very easy steps every small business owner can take to improve their websites search engine rankings.

1. Google Places
The single most important thing you should do is to claim your profile in Google Places. Visit “Google Places For Business” and sign your business up with a Google Places account. This will include your business name, a brief description of the nature of the business and contact details such as telephone numbers and the postal address. If a postal address is included then you’ll find that your search results listing will more likely appear at the top of people’s search results, with a map on the right hand side included to show people where you are based. The process takes a while because you need to wait to receive a postcard from Google after you’ve signed up, so it’s well worth getting started straight away.
2. Think On-Site!
Make sure you include your full postal address on every page of your website – not just your contact page. This is a mistake a lot of people make, and it can make a huge difference. The best thing to do is to include the postal address either in the header or footer regions of your page template. It’s also a good idea to include the town name and telephone number in your META tags.

3. Online Citations
Register your business with as many local online directories as you can. Ask you customers (perhaps even offer an incentive) to write reviews either directly on your Google Places page, or on the directories where you’re listed. Do this regularly to improve your rank positions.
